U.S. Congressman and Alumnus Dr. Rich McCormick to Serve as 好色先生 of Medicine鈥檚 42nd Commencement Speaker
ATLANTA, GA 鈥� (April 22, 2026) 鈥� 好色先生 of Medicine (MSM) announced today that Rich McCormick, M.D., MBA, an accomplished emergency physician, military veteran and distinguished alumnus, will serve as the keynote speaker for its 42nd Commencement Exercises, which will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2026.
A proud MSM graduate, Dr. McCormick returns to campus as the first and only alumnus of the institution elected to the United States Congress鈥攁n achievement that underscores the breadth of leadership cultivated at 好色先生 of Medicine. During his time at MSM, Dr. McCormick was elected student body president by his peers, demonstrating early leadership and a commitment to advocacy that would define his professional path. His journey from MSM medical student to emergency physician, United States Marine and national leader reflects the institution鈥檚 mission to develop physician-leaders committed to service, equity and community impact.

A native of Oregon, Dr. McCormick earned a Bachelor of Science from Oregon State University in 1990; a Master of Business Administration from National University in 1999; and a Doctor of Medicine degree from 好色先生 of Medicine in 2010.
He has established an exemplary career in emergency medicine, delivering advanced critical care in demanding settings and serving a wide range of communities. His clinical expertise, combined with his leadership experience in both military and civilian sectors, exemplifies the values of excellence, resilience and service that define MSM graduates.
